We want to help you fund your amazing community project!

Who should apply?
SOUP is a great way to raise money, build community support and get connections to local resources that can help you carry out your project.

We are seeking people doing projects that benefit our city from a broad range of fields.  Your project can be about anything as long as it is happening in the city of Vancouver and it is making our community a better, friendlier place.

If you are chosen to pitch
If we choose you to pitch at Vancouver SOUP, you will also need to discuss the answers to the application questions during your short (4 minute) presentation at the dinner.  There will be no technology used during presentations (Powerpoint, or other things that require a projector) but feel free to bring props, signs, etc (check with us in advance to make sure it can be accommodated if it’s BIG!).  We want the evening to be informal and relaxed – tell us a story, make us laugh, speak from the heart.  The amount of money you win depends on how many people attend (so spread the word and bring your friends!)  Past events have raised between $500 – $1000 for the winning project.

If you win
Congratulations! We will ask you to return to a future SOUP and update us on your project.

Even if you don’t win (the pot of money)
You can still benefit from presenting. At the events you’ll meet engaged community members and have the opportunity to chat with SOUP attendees about your project, giving you the opportunity to find all sorts of support, resources, and fans.  We will have a space at the dinner for people to leave you their contact info and offers of support (in kind items, advice, services, who knows?) so you won’t go home empty-handed.

If you weren’t chosen to pitch
Please re-apply as many times as you like for the next Soup event. We will not consider past applications unless you re-submit an application form.
